Paprenjak is a traditional Middle-European type of gingerbread cookie that is usually made around the time of Advent. They are unique by shape thanks to a wooden biscuit mold used to press the mass of the cookie. The biscuit molds typically have a flower, fruit or religious design. Due to pepper, honey and walnuts, the cookies get a distinctive taste. Even though the cookies are sweet, they can also be consumed with beer or wine. We are making the cookies using a traditional recipe from Zagreb with fruits or Glagolitic letters design.
